As video games was introduced to the media world, its side effects were argued since then. While a lot of statistics showed that video games would poison children with addiction, a game designer, Jane McGonigal, advocated an idea of playing video games to make the world better.

By turning job in life into a game, she discovered "gamers" would gain more motivation to live and keep working. Not only "gamers" have more motivation to work, but also the motivation to pursue improvement in performances. People would keep it up even after they encountered millions of failures. She looks at things just like an addicted video gamer. Interestingly, the word "addicted" would no longer only use for describing something bad anymore.
