Youtube? Sharing or selling?

With the ability to draw a million of people’s attentions, Youtube as well as other third party websites is walking toward the use of commercialization instead of personal sharing. Youtube was purchased since 2005. The original purpose to share video clips and messages were gradually whelmed by government and commercial’s use. Playing a clip with a certain amount of views would now be commercialized with a 30 seconds of an unrelated subject commercial prior to the clip. The purity of sharing gradually becomes a major medium and platform for business and advertising.

Are the purity and simplicity of sharing disappearing? Is it a bad situation for a long term? It is hard to tell. Since, those websites have never clearly stated their purpose of sharing was for non-profit use. If they did, they could then change it by editing the page of “about us” at the corner of the site again at any time as they want. The existence of a disgusting feeling was because of our over expectation, which caused us to believe that those mediums are for sharing only. Not selling. Obviously, we were all wrong when it comes to money. We have the right to feel angry, but we cannot force anyone to change but ourselves. Maybe it is time for us to edit our “page of about us” now.
